In deference to people's comfort I'm going to go back and change names where used. Historic figures' names won't change. I'm still struggling over whether I can bear to change people's pets' names.
I've amended my site description to "Stories from Pasadena, California's Castle Green. Some old, some new, some more true than others.", because that's how I'd like it read. I'm trying to be accurate to atmosphere, as much or more than fact.
My goal with the site is to write a collection of stories about an interesting place, not to embarrass or offend. I can't figure out what the fun of that would be. If something I write is critical, that is my own opinion, not a universal opinion per se. "There are two sides to every story" (attributed to John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Euripides among others).
Please remember that nothing I write can actually alter previous events and if an event is silly, or even sad, it will remain so whether I write about it or not.
