The brother of a certain celebrity.

The brother of a certain celebrity lives here. Most recently seen on our roof drinking, and most recently in the press for his "winning" ways. Our neighbor, his brother, looks a great deal like him. It was probably the most embarrassing resemblance to have sometime this summer and definitely the most embarrassing brother to have, even if for just a minute in history. But he is not the first sibling of a celebrity to live in Castle Green.

Screen siren, Lillian Gish had a brother who lived here. Equally beautiful but it does a man far less good. Look at Angelina Jolie and her brother. Emmet Gish was a poet, a man of letters, some long and rambling. It is said he declared his love for his sister as anything but fraternal in endless letters found in the building water towers; viewable from Raymond Avenue, they look much more like turrets than drainage systems.

He must have thought better of sending them on and put them there to destroy them. And while time and moisture have done them much damage one can still clearly read, "I love you, forever, more than I ever will my own wife and children". This famous brother was living in a bachelor state at the building, so clearly if he had a family he had not done well by them or they conversely had chosen to have no part of him. Whatever the outcome of this passion remains between him and the castle and the watery utilities where he chose to express his love.

I had to reread this to understand the "watery utilities" he used to express his "love." I think I understand now.

This is definitely a winning blog you've stared, Becky!
